DHAKA, July 8, 2026 (BSS) – The government has appointed AKM Wahiduzzaman as the Deputy Permanent Representative of Bangladesh to the United Nations in New York for a one-year term.

According to a gazette notification issued here yesterday, the government appointed Wahiduzzaman on a contractual basis with the rank of ambassador (grade-1 status).

During his tenure, Wahiduzzaman must sever all ties with any profession, business, or government and semi-government organisations from the date of his joining.

The notification said the other terms and conditions of the appointment will be determined under the contract agreement.
