DHAKA, March 31, 2026 (BSS) — Irish Ambassador to Bangladesh Kevin Kelly paid a courtesy call on Inspector General of Police (IGP) Md. Ali Hossain Fakir at the Police Headquarters today. 

During the meeting, the Ambassador expressed keen interest in strengthening cooperation between the police forces of Ireland and Bangladesh, according to a press release of the Police Headquarters. 

Both sides exchanged views on a range of issues of mutual interest, with particular emphasis on the ongoing reform initiatives of Bangladesh Police.

The IGP briefed the envoy on various reform programmes and operational activities undertaken by the Bangladesh Police to enhance professionalism and service delivery. 

He also sought the support and cooperation of the Irish government in building the capacity of the force.

Senior police officers were present at the meeting.
