Kalmakanda girls’ high school teachers, students pay courtesy call on Deputy Speaker

DHAKA, Sep 08, 2026 (BSS) - A 49-member delegation comprising teachers, students, and chairman of the school management committee and guardians of Kalmankanda Girls’ High School in Netrokona today paid a courtesy call on Deputy Speaker Barrister Kayser Kamal at the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban here.

During the meeting, the Deputy Speaker exchanged greetings with the students and enquired about their wellbeing.

“You are the future of tomorrow. You have to study well, become good human beings and make your parents proud. Through your merit, competence and honesty, you have to bring glory to Netrokona as well as the country,” he said.

Addressing the teachers, the Deputy Speaker said, “You are the architects of building the students as human beings. Therefore, you have to take care of the students with affection and compassion like your own children.

Thanking the teachers, school authorities and guardians for bringing the students to visit the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban, the Deputy Speaker said such initiatives would help increase the students’ civic awareness and knowledge about parliamentary activities.The delegation also paid courtesy calls on Prime Minister Tarique Rahman and Speaker Hafiz Uddin Ahmad Bir Bikrom separately.

During the visit, the delegation observed the proceedings of the Jatiya Sangsad and visited various important places of the parliament complex, including the South Plaza, North Plaza and Parliament Library.

The students were seen excited and delighted during the visit. Through the visit, the students had the opportunity to gain firsthand knowledge and experience about parliamentary democracy, the legislative process and the activities of the Jatiya Sangsad.
