DHAKA, March 30, 2026 (BSS) - Rapid Action Battalion (RAB-4) has arrested two individuals involved in a fraud and human trafficking network that allegedly produced fake visas for various developed countries, including Australia and several European nations.
The drive was carried out in Karwan Bazar area of the capital based on confidential intelligence.
The arrested were identified as Md. Sakiur Rahman alias Sumon (37) and Md. Korban Ali (30). During the raid, law enforcement officials seized visa-making equipment and a large number of counterfeit visas.
Additional Police Super Md Shahinur Kabir, Company Commander, CPC-2 made the disclosure today at a press briefing at RAB-4 Headquarters, Paikpara, Mirpur-1.
According to RAB and initial interrogation, the suspects operated under the name "SRS International BD," luring victims with promises of lucrative overseas jobs.
In one case, a victim was offered employment in Australia for Taka 20 lakh and paid Taka 19.5 lakh in installments. The victim was later taken to a visa processing center for fingerprinting and provided with documents to maintain the deception.
The accused continued to delay travel arrangements while extracting additional money, including funds for plane tickets. The victim later discovered through a WhatsApp group named "Australia Group" that others had also been defrauded by the same individuals.
After failing to recover his money and facing threats, the victim filed a case with Ashulia Police Station.
Following intensified surveillance and investigation, RAB-4 tracked down and arrested the suspects.
Authorities said the duo had been involved in similar fraudulent activities for a long time, deceiving numerous people by promising overseas employment.
The accused have been handed over to the concerned police station for further legal action.
