BARISHAL, March 23, 2026 (BSS) — Amusement and recreational centres across Barishal witnessed a significant surge in visitors during the Eid holidays as people of all ages flocked to celebrate the festive break with family and friends.
The increase in footfall became especially noticeable from the second and third days of Eid, after earlier adverse weather conditions subsided, allowing residents to venture and enjoy outdoor activities more comfortably.
Among the city’s attractions, Planet Park emerged as the most popular destination, drawing large crowds from afternoon through evening. The park was specially decorated for Eid enhancing the festive ambiance and attracting families in large numbers.
Long queues were seen at ticket counters during peak hours. The entry fee was set at Tk 35 per person, with the park operating daily from 10:00 am and admitting visitors until 9:00 pm.
Visitors enjoyed a wide range of rides suitable for all age groups, including hydraulic plane rides, Flower Box, Santa Maria, rotating rides, Super Chair, train rides, pedal boats and Para Tukabor. Families, particularly those with children, spent extended hours exploring the attractions.
Other popular recreational spots in the city, including Muktijoddha Park, Swadhinata Park, Bels Park, Green City Park and the scenic embankment along the Kirtankhola River, also experienced a remarkable rise in visitors during the holidays.
Many visitors said the Eid break provided a valuable opportunity to spend quality time with loved ones. Some also observed that the city remained relatively free from traffic congestion, making it easier to travel between different locations.
Law enforcers were deployed across key recreational areas to ensure public safety and maintain order throughout the holiday period.
