BARGUNA, March 22, 2026 (BSS) - Chief Whip of Jatiya Sangsad Nurul Islam,  today inaugurated a canal excavation programme at Kroke in Barguna as part of the nationwide programme of excavation and re-excavation of rivers, canals, and water bodies.

Islami Andolon Bangladesh lawmaker (Barguna-1) Md. Oli Ullah was also present.

One of the key electoral commitments of Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) Chairman and Prime Minister Tarique Rahman is to implement the nationwide programme for excavating and re-excavating rivers, canals, and water reservoirs, aiming to protect the environment and strengthen climate resilience.

Local elected representatives, political leaders and dignitaries were present on the occasion.
