RANGPUR, March 20, 2026 (BSS) - The main Eid-ul-Fitr congregation will be held at Rangpur Collectorate Eidgah Maidan at 8:30 am tomorrow in the city amid due religious eagerness amidst adequate security measures.
Khatib of historical Keramotia Jam-e-Mosque and prominent Islamic thinker Alhaj Hafiz Kwari Moulana Md Bayezid Hussaine will conduct the main Eid-ul-Fitr congregation, deliver Khutba and conduct special munajats.
Alternatively, the first main Eid-ul-Fitr Jamat will be held at the District Model Mosque and Islamic Cultural Center at 8:30am and the second congregation at 9am there if the weather remains unfavorable.
Officials in the district administration and Islamic Foundation said high officials, dignitaries, academics, civil society members and professionals are expected to participate in the city’s main Eid-ul-Fitr congregation.
Rangpur City Corporation in association with the district administration, Islamic Foundation and Rangpur Metropolitan Police have completed all preparations to hold the main Eid-ul-Fitr congregation.
Eid-ul-Fitr congregations will be arranged at Eidgahs, mosques and open grounds in the city, all eight upazila headquarters and three municipalities and rural areas across the district.
The national flag will be hoisted atop all government and private buildings, improved diets be served to inmates of the hospitals, orphanages, jail, vagrant centres and Shishu Paribars.
Rangpur City Corporation continues decorating Rangpur Collectorate Eidgah Maidan for the main congregation and main streets with the national flag and colorful flags and banners bearing inscriptions ‘Eid Mubarak’ giving delightful looks to the city.
Besides, the major mosques, main streets and major buildings will be illuminated and colorfully decorated on the occasion of the holy Eid-ul-Fitr festival.
In Rangpur city, major Eid-ul-Fitr congregations will be held at Nasirabad Ekramia Jam-e-Mosque, Keramotia Jam-e-Mosque, Munshipara Eidgah, Keramotia Jam-e-Mosque, Rangpur Medical College Central Jam-e-Mosque, Mandalpara Boro Eidgah Maidan, Rangpur Medical College Central Jam-e-Mosque, Burirhat Central Eidgah, Central Bus Terminal Jam-e Mosque and other Eidgahs and mosques between 8:30 am and 9:30 am.
Outside the city, bigger Eid jamats will be held at Mithapukur Central Eidgah, Badarganj Chandamari Central Eidgah, Badarganj Central Eidgah, Pirgachha JN High School ground, Kawnia Central Eidgah, Taraganj Chowpathi Eidgah, Pirganj Central Eidgah and Paikan Baro Jumma Mosque ground in Gangachara upazila between 8:30 am and 10 am.
Hundreds of Muslim devotees will offer special munajats in the congregations seeking divine blessings for continued peace, progress and prosperity of the country, its people, Muslim Ummah and humanity as a whole.
Rangpur Metropolitan Police has taken all necessary security measures to ensure smooth organization of the main Eid congregation and other congregations in the city.
