DHAKA, March 18, 2026 (BASS) - On the occasion of the holy Eid-ul-Fitr, Maulana Mamunul Haque, Amir of Bangladesh Khelafat Majlis, and Maulana Jalaluddin Ahmed, Secretary General, have extended their heartfelt greetings and felicitations to the people of Bangladesh and the global Muslim Ummah.
They conveyed the greetings today in a joint statement.
In the statement, the leaders said that the month-long fasting of Ramadan teaches people self-restraint, justice, and piety. The holy Eid serves as an important occasion to implement these teachings in personal, social, and state life, they said.
They noted that the current world is burdened with unrest, conflict, and injustice. The ongoing tensions in the Middle East, particularly the situations in Palestine and Iran, are becoming increasingly worrisome, Khelafat Majlis leaders said.
Countless innocent men, women, and children are losing their lives, and many people are falling into humanitarian crises. In such circumstances, celebrating Eid has become a sorrowful occasion for Muslims in the affected regions, they added.
The Khelafat Majlis leaders further stated that a large number of Bangladeshis living abroad are compelled to observe Eid amid uncertainty and anxiety.
They emphasized that the true lessons of Eid are sacrifice, equality, and brotherhood. Therefore, they called upon the wealthy in society to stand by the poor, helpless, and deprived, so that the joy of Eid can be shared by all.
The leaders prayed for overall peace, stability, and welfare of the country, urging everyone to work together in unity.
At the same time, they prayed to Almighty Allah to free the Muslim Ummah from all kinds of crises and to establish peace and justice in the world.
