NARSINGDI, March 18, 2026 (BSS) - Financial assistance from the Prime Minister’s Relief Fund was distributed among poor and underprivileged residents of Narsingdi Sadar upazila ahead of Eid.
The distribution program was held at 11am today at the Upazila Parishad conference room. It was organized by the Upazila Administration and chaired by Upazila Nirbahi Officer and Municipal Administrator Asma Jannat Sarkar.
A total of 333 beneficiaries from two municipalities and 11 unions under Narsingdi Sadar upazila received Tk 3,000 each as part of the initiative.
Member of Parliament Khairul Kabir Khokon attended the event as the chief guest.
Speaking on the occasion, he said the government is committed to ensuring that the joy of Eid reaches everyone, especially the underprivileged.
He also emphasized that all government assistance will be distributed fairly and transparently, with no tolerance for irregularities.
In her remarks, the Upazila Nirbahi Officer highlighted the importance of such initiatives in supporting vulnerable communities and expressed hope that similar programs would continue in the future.
Local representatives, distinguished persons and administrative officials were also present at the event.
