DHAKA, Aug 27, 2026 (BSS) - Prime Minister's Education Adviser Mahdi Amin today hoped that the Bangladesh and China educational connectivity will further strengthen strategic partnership, employment opportunities and professional prospects for both countries.

He made the remarks at a symposium titled "Bridging Technical Education and Developing Talent for China-Bangladesh Economic and Trade Cooperation" in Guangdong, China, said a press release received here.

The adviser said fulfilling the aspirations of the people and implementing the electoral manifesto are the Bangladesh government's key commitments. 

He said the government eyes is to make technical and vocational education compulsory for all to connect theoretical classroom-based education with the practical requirements of the workplace.

At the same time, to help Bangladeshi youth advance in the international arena, effective initiatives have been taken to introduce third-language education, giving priority to the study of Mandarin (Chinese language), said Mahdi.

It is essential to develop world-class skilled manpower in emerging technology sectors such as artificial intelligence (AI), robotics, cross-border e-commerce, supply chain management and financial technology to make the growing economic partnership between Bangladesh and China sustainable, he added.

He called for the development of modern technical curricula, joint certification programmes and employment exchange networks with the support of leading Chinese universities and technical institutions.

Education Minister Dr. A N M Ehsanul Hoque Milon and Technical and Madrasah Education Secretary Md. Daud Miah were also present at event as members of the Bangladesh delegation. 

Presidents and representatives of various renowned Chinese educational institutions, distinguished teachers and researchers, students and leading Chinese industrial entrepreneurs were also present.

The event was jointly organized by 11 leading technical and technological colleges in China.

During the visit, the Bangladeshi Education Minister and the adviser toured the Beidou+ Digital Supply Chain Laboratory and observed demonstrations of robotics, robot-dog programming and Chinese tea culture.

One of the major highlights of the event was the launch of the Guangdong Chinese + Vocational Skills Industry-Education Integration Alliance for the global promotion of technical education. 

It has created a new platform for cooperation in integrating technical education, language education, skills development and industry-academia collaboration.

The event concluded with both sides expressing their commitment to transforming the discussions into a practical and sustainable partnership, which is expected to further strengthen cooperation between China and Bangladesh in technical education, skills development and industry-linked training.
