DHAKA, Jan 22, 2026 (BSS) - A court here today sent one Billal to jail in a case lodged over the sensational murder of former general secretary of Jatiyatabadi Swecchasebak Dal's Dhaka North City Unit Md Azizur Rahman Musabbir.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Habibullah Pias passed the order as police produced Billal before the court after the end of his total 10-day remand and pleaded to keep him behind bars till the end of probe.

Md Azizur Rahman Musabbir was shot dead by some unidentified assailants around 8:30 pm on January 7 in an alleyway beside Hotel Super Star in West Tejturi Para in the capital. 

Another man, Sufian Bepari Masud, 40, was also shot and later referred to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) for improved treatment. 

Following the incident, Musabbir's wife filed the case with Tejgaon Police Station against four to five unknown persons.
