DHAKA, Jan 21, 2026 (BSS) - BNP-nominated candidate for Dhaka-14 and coordinator of 'Mayer Dak', an organisation for families of enforced disappearance victims, Sanjida Islam Tulee today said the party is committed to positive, pro-people politics aimed at the welfare of citizens and the country.

Speaking to journalists after receiving the party's electoral symbol, the 'Sheaf of Paddy', from the office of the Dhaka Divisional Commissioner and Returning Officer, Tulee said, "This is my first election with the Sheaf of Paddy symbol. I hope to win with the trust and support of the people and work for their welfare."

She added that BNP's goal is to establish a democratic state guided by the ideals of former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia.

Commenting on the electoral environment in Dhaka-14, Tulee said fair competition is underway and emphasised the need to end the politics of revenge that has caused widespread suffering over the past 15 years.

Earlier, she formally received the symbol from Returning Officer Sharaf Uddin Ahmed Chowdhury and said her election campaign will officially begin tomorrow.
