DHAKA, Jan 20, 2026 (BSS) - The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) today
arrested Syed Sohanur Rahman Siam, son of Abed Ali, a former driver of the
Public Service Commission (PSC).
Mohammad Tanzir Ahmed, Assistant Director of the Public Relations Department
of the ACC, confirmed the information.
According to the ACC, Syed Siam was arrested from city's Segunbagicha area of
the capital here this afternoon. He was later produced before the Court of
Dhaka Metropolitan Senior Special Judge.
Siam is a resident of Middle Pirerbagh and West Shewrapara areas in Mirpur.
His permanent address is West Botla village under Kalkini upazila in
Madaripur district.
The ACC said a case was filed against him under Section 27(1) of the Anti-
Corruption Commission Act, 2004, for concealing asset information and
amassing wealth beyond his known sources of income. The case was earlier
lodged by the ACC's Integrated District Office, Dhaka-1.
Earlier, on December 30, 2025, the ACC headquarters approved the submission
of the charge sheet in the case. On the same day, the investigating officer
submitted the charge sheet to the court.
The ACC said that further legal action against the accused will be taken in
accordance with the court's subsequent orders.
