TANGAIL, Jan 1, 2026 (BSS) – Former home minister and BNP vice chairman Major General (Retd) Mahmudul Hasan was laid to eternal rest at his family graveyard in Santosh area of the district this afternoon.
Various political parties, public representatives and people from all walks of life participated in his namaj-e janaza at Bindubasini Government Boys High School of the district town.
BNP Central Vice-Chairman Abdus Salam Pintu, Ahmed Azam Khan, BNP Central Publicity Secretary Sultan Salauddin Tuku, District Jamaat-e-Islami Amir Ahsan Habib Masud, Krishak Sramik Janata League President Bangabir Abdul Quader Siddiqui and former minister Abdul Latif Siddiqui, among others, attended the janaza.
Mahmudul Hasan, former member of parliament (MP) from Tangail-5 constituency, breathed his last at 3pm at his residence in the capital due to old age complication.
