BAGERHAT, 20 Dec, 2025 (BSS): The members of Coast Guard have arrested six local leaders and activists of the banned Awami League in Khulna, Bagerhat and Satkhira region during a overnight operation.

 Coast Guard media officer Lieutenant Commander Siam-ul-Haq told BSS this afternoon. 

 Based on secret information, he said, the force of the west zone conducted five separate special operations in Mongla and Morelganj of Bagerhat, Rupsha and Dakop of Khulna and Joykhali areas under Shyamnagar police station of Satkhira from 5 pm on December 19 to 6 am on Saturday, December 20.  

 Asaduzzaman Sabuj (34), Md. Shahin Alam (48), Rabiul Islam Litu (58), Sheikh Azharul Islam (67), Bidyut Biswas (66) and Md. Shahinur Gazi (38) were arrested from the areas. 

All the people arrested in the operation are local leaders and activists of the banned Awami League.
