DHAKA, Dec 16, 2025 (BSS)- A total of 1,439 people were arrested across the 
country including the capital in special drives conducted by the police 
during the last 24 hours.

Among those arrested, 616 were warrant-listed suspects in different cases, 
while 823 were involved in other criminal activities.

Assistant Inspector General (AIG) for Media and PR of the Police Headquarters 
AHM Shahadat Hossain revealed the information to the media today.

He said that police conducted coordinated operations across the country over 
the past 24 hours, leading to the arrests. 

During the drive, police recovered three Light Guns (locally-made firearms), 
one home-made one-shot gun, eight rounds of rifle ammunition, four rounds of 
pistol ammunition, three cartridges and two Burmese knives from the 
possession of the arrested people.
