NARSINGDI, Dec 01, 2025 (BSS)- The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has seized immovable properties worth around Taka 8.5 crore belonging to Delwar Hossain Delu, a Jubo League leader from Palash upazila of the district, on charges of amassing wealth beyond known sources of income.

The seizure was carried out on Monday afternoon under the supervision of the ACC's integrated district offices of Gazipur and Narsingdi.

Two multi-storey buildings in Danga Union, allegedly built with illicit income, were taken into government custody.

Delwar, son of Suruj Ali from Kazirchar village and president of the Danga Union Jubo League, has been on the run since August 5, according to ACC officials.

Earlier, ACC Assistant Director Md Enamul Haque of the Gazipur (Narsingdi) integrated district office filed a petition with the court under Rule 18 of the Anti-Corruption Commission Rules 2007 (amended 2019), seeking confiscation of Delwar's illegal assets.

Upon initial evidence of wrongdoing, the court approved the petition, ordering the seizure of his properties and the appointment of a receiver.

According to officials, Delwar faces nearly 50 criminal cases, including charges of murder, robbery, extortion, and land grabbing.

He reportedly went into hiding following the fall of the Awami League government on August 5, 2024.

During Monday's operation, ACC officials were accompanied by Palash Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Abu Bakkar Siddique, Shyuli Rani Dhar, a sub-assistant officer of the Danga Union land office, and members of the district's
Corruption Prevention Committee.
