DHAKA, Dec 24, 2025 (BSS)- Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) today submitted charge sheets against 19 persons in separate cases filed for revenue evasion in self gain in the Chattogram Customs House.
Total revenue loss of the government is about Taka 4.33 crore, Assistant Director (PR) of the ACC Md Tanzir Ahmed said.
The charge sheets were submitted in the cases filed by the Special Inquiry and Investigation Wing as the allegations against the pesos were proved in the investigations.
The accused persons include former and current revenue officials of Chattogram Customs House, importers and Clearing and Forwarding (C&F) agents.
Investigations revealed that the accused persons in connivance with each other and for financial gain committed the fraudulent acts and forgery by concealing the actual Harmonized System (HS) codes of imported goods and instead declaring lower-duty HS codes.
In addition, fake bills of entry and shipping documents were prepared and used to evade customs duties, thereby embezzling the amount of government revenue.
The ACC stated that the cases were filed in 2019 over allegations of revenue evasion at Chattogram Customs House.
