LAKSHMIPUR, Nov 27, 2025 (BSS)- BNP Joint Secretary General Shahid Uddin Chowdhury Annie has said BNP does not do politics by using the religion.

He said this while addressing in home-yard meeting organized by Jatiyatabadi Mahila Dal at Charbhuta area of Sadar upazila here today. 

“Getting Jannat by giving vote to a particular party is a sheer propaganda. Nobody will pay heed to this propaganda,” he said. 
Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman added ‘Bismillahir Rahmanir Rahim’ in the constitution, he noted saying no political party can ensure your jannat in exchange of vote.

Annie said BNP is a people oriented party and Ziaur Rahman proclaimed the independence being a leader of the rural people.

President Zia started the excavation of the canal and he stood besides the common people. Later, he became president and stood beside the people and introduced his much acclaimed canal excavation programme.

Begum Khaleda Zia steered the nation after President Zia, who for her uncompromising leadership endured immense torture by Awami League government.

Awami League government kept Begum Khaleda Zia behind the bar and lodged many fabricated cases against her. But she never left the country.

Among others, Lakshmipur Sadar East BNP President Mayeen Uddin Chowdhury Riaz, district Mahila Dal president Sabera Anwar, general secretary Fatema Akhter Sumi Begum and other leaders attended the meeting.
