GAZIPUR, April 2, 2026 (BSS) – Gazipur Metropolitan Police (GMP) Commissioner Israil Howlader today said special training will be arranged for police personnel to improve the quality of investigations and ensure proper handling of complaints and cases.
He said effective crime control and speedy justice are not possible without strengthening investigation capacity.
The Commissioner made the remarks at an Eid reunion and views-exchange meeting with journalists at the GMP conference room in the morning.
The meeting also discussed law and order, crime control and investigative challenge issues.
Replying to questions, the GMP commissioner said lack of proper information often weakens evidence presentation in court, delaying justice and allowing criminals to exploit loopholes.
He stressed that investigators must properly analyze crime patterns, time and place of occurrence, and evidence collection, along with possible links to previous incidents.
Highlighting modern crime trends, he said, “Technology, intelligence and data analysis are now essential for identifying criminals and uncovering motives.”
“Manpower shortage and lack of vehicles sometimes hamper operations, though police are continuing their best efforts,” he noted mentioning the shortcomings.
Among others, present at the meeting were Additional Police Commissioner (Crime and Operations) Mohammad Taherul Haque Chowhan, Deputy Police Commissioner (Headquarters and Finance) Md. Zahid Hossain Bhuiyan, PPM, Deputy Police Commissioner (Crime, South Division) Mohammad Mohiuddin Ahmed, and Assistant Police Commissioner (Staff Officer to Police Commissioner) Chowdhury Md. Tanvir.
