DHAKA, Aug 15, 2022 (BSS) – A Quran Khatam programme and doa mahfil were held at Baitul Mukarram National Mosque in the city today on the occasion of the 47th martyrdom anniversary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and the National Mourning Day.

A total of 100 hafezes completed the recitation of the whole holy Quran at 11 am. At the end of the recitation of the holy Quran, special prayers and munajat were offered seeking eternal peace of the departed souls of the Father of the Nation and the martyred members of his family.  

State Minister for Religious Affairs Md Faridul Haque Khan was present at the function as the chief guest, a handout said.

With Islamic Foundation director general Dr Md Mushfiqur Rahman in the chair, the doa mahfil was Baitul Mukarram National Mosque Khatib hafez Mufti Maulana Ruhul Amin.

After zhor prayers, special prayers and doa were offered at all mosques of the country seeking eternal peace of the departed souls of Bangabandhu and his family members martyred on this day in 1975.
