2,076 absent in SSC math exam under Jashore board, two expelled

KHULNA, May 3, 2026 (BSS) - A total of 2,076 examinees remained absent in the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) Mathematics (Compulsory) examination held under the Jashore Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education today, while two students were expelled for adopting unfair means.

According to board sources, the examination was held peacefully at 299 centres across the 10 districts under the board.

Of the total 1, 22,184 registered candidates, 1,20,108 appeared in the examination, leaving 2,076 absent.

The expelled examinees were identified by roll numbers 123436 from Philipnagar centre (No. 552) in Kushtia district and 208381 from Alamdanga upazila centre (No. 383) in Chuadanga district.

Jashore Education Board Controller of Examinations Professor Dr Md Abdul Matin confirmed the information today evening.

He said in Khulna district, 19,391 students took part in the examination while 264 remained absent. In Bagerhat, 10,619 appeared and 164 were absent, while in Satkhira, 12,889 students attended and 229 remained absent.

In Kushtia, 17,741 students appeared and 297 were absent; in Chuadanga, 7,820 appeared and 135 remained absent; and in Meherpur, 5,372 students took part in the examination while 122 were absent.

Besides, 19,770 students appeared in Jashore district with 332 absentees, 5,321 appeared in Narail with 108 absentees, and 14,228 students appeared in Jhenaidah where 314 remained absent.
