CHITTAGONG UNIVERSITY, Aug 7, 2026 (BSS) – The 36th senate meeting of Chittagong University (CU) will be held tomorrow (Saturday), after nearly three years.
The meeting will be chaired by CU Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Mohammad Al-Forkan.
The Vice-Chancellor said, "The 36th senate meeting of CU will be held tomorrow. The Senate is expected to consider and approve the estimated revenue budget of Tk 503.47 crore for the 2026-27 fiscal year and the revised revenue budget of Tk 489.99 crore for the 2025-26 fiscal year.”
The university last held a Senate meeting on July 30, 2023, although the Chittagong University Act-1973 requires the Senate to convene at least once every year.
Under the Act, the Senate is responsible for approving the university's annual report, annual accounts and financial estimates, amending and ratifying statutes on the recommendations of the Syndicate, and performing other functions assigned under the law.
