KOICA supports DU's IML to improve learning environment

DHAKA, Dec 8, 2022 (BSS) - Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA), the South Korean government aid agency, today handed over various modern gadgets including computers and smart TVs to Dhaka University's Institute of Modern Language (IML) for enhancing its learning atmosphere. 

KOICA Country Director Young-Ah Doh handed over the donations and unveiled a new nameplate of "Korean Language and Culture Centre" at the IML, a press release issued by KOICA said here.

Besides, IML and KOICA jointly hosted two separate contests titled "Korean Speech" and "Korean Writing" held at IML auditorium where 40 contestants across the country participated. 

Among them, six participants were finally selected and awarded under different categories. 

Expressing her pleasure at seeing more young people and students learning Korean, Young-Ah Doh thanked Dhaka University and IML for helping run the Korean Language Programs.

IML Director Prof Dr. Razaul Karim Faquire, KOICA's officials including Deputy Country Director Kim Taegeun, Program Managers Gunju Lee and Md. Fazle Rabby joined the event.

Dhaka University established the Korean Language Center under its Institute of Modern Language (IML) in 1997. 
 
Around 150 students are enrolled in the Korean language courses every academic year as this centre offers various certificate and diploma courses in Korean language.
