RANGPUR, Dec 6, 2022 (BSS) - Commerce Minister Tipu Munshi has said the BNP-Jamaat clique has launched a new conspiracy.
 
"We have fought under the leadership of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and liberated the country through the War of Liberation. We all have to protect our country," he said.
 
The commerce minister said this while addressing the extended meeting of Pirgachha Upazila Awami League at Pirgachha upazila town in the district on Monday afternoon as the chief guest.
 
Tipu Munshi said the country cannot be allowed to fall into the hands of Razakars-Al-badars. If power goes into their hands, the country will be destroyed.
 
"The grassroots level leaders and workers are the life of Bangladesh Awami League which is a party of soil and people. We want to further strengthen Awami League at the grassroots level to take the party forward," he said.
 
Tipu Munshi said there is nothing to panic about the December 10 rally called by BNP as BNP-Jamaat leaders and activists cannot be found on the streets of Dhaka that day.
 
With Pirgacha Upazila Awami League President Taslim Uddin in the chair, Rangpur District Awami League General Secretary Advocate Rezaul Karim Raju addressed the meeting as the keynote speakers.
 
Moderated by Pirgachha Upazila Awami League Joint General Secretary Zahidul Islam, District Awami League Vice-presidents Rosy Rahman and Abdul Hakim Sarder, its Organizing Secretary Abu Talha Biplob, Pirgachha Upazila Awami League Organizing Secretary Zafar Iqbal and Presidents and General Secretaries of different union units of the party addressed the event.
 
Earlier, the commerce minister distributed shawls, blankets, baby sweaters at a function organised by Islamic Relief Bangladesh at Parul Union Parishad premises of Pirgacha Upazila as the chief guest.
