Doa mahfil held commemorating AL leader Duronto Biplob 

SAVAR, Nov 18, 2022 (BSS) - A milad mahfil and commemoration programme was held today to commemorate the former JU student and Awami League leader Duronto Biplob.

Family members of Duronto Biplob organised the program at Prince Restaurant at Mohammadpur in the capital after Asr prayers.

Relatives, friends and well wishers of Duronto Biplob and former students of Jahangirnagar University attended the programme. 

At the beginning of the program, one-minute silence was observed in memory of the Duronto Biplob. Later, relatives and friends reminisced about him.

Duronto Biplob's younger brother Durjoy Biplob said, "My brother was two years older than me. He played the role of our guardian. His death seemed like a nightmare to me. He was a dreamer. He didn't want to gain anything himself. He used to make people's dream true. No one's brother should be lost like this."

Sharmin Tamanna, wife of Duronto Biplob, said, "Duronto had no greed, no jealousy or no hatred. He was immensely brave. Although he had the opportunity to go to the center of power, he did not go. He wanted throughout his life only for the benefit of people. We want justice for his murder. I request the Honorable Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to give kind attention so that the culprits can be detained."

Duronto Biplob's sister-in-law, former JU Chatra Dal leader and convener of Jahangirnagar Sarbadaliya Chhatra Oikya Parishad Sabbir, former General Secretary of Jaksu Masum and Durant Biplab's childhood friend Firoz Ahmed among others, reminisced about Biplob at the programme. They demanded fair trial to ensure exemplary punishment to the killers of Biplob. 

A special prayer was offered after Magrib prayers seeking eternal peace of the departed soul of Biplob. 

Former student of Drama and Dramatics department of Jahangirnagar University (19th Batch) Duronto Biplob was a member of the agriculture and cooperatives sub-committee of the Bangladesh Awami League. He was also former general secretary of Jahangirnagar University's BCL unit.

On November 7, Duronto Biplob went missing. Later, his body was found floating in the Buriganga river in Narayanganj's Fatullah area on Saturday. 

He left behind his wife, a daughter and a host of relatives and admires to mourn his death.
