83,748 more children get Covid-19 jabs in Rangpur

RANGPUR, Nov 9, 2022 (BSS) - More 83,748 children aged 5-11 years were vaccinated with the first doses of Covid-19 jabs on Tuesday raising the number of vaccinated children to 12,46,949 in the division.
 
Health officials said the Covid-19 vaccination campaign continues smoothly in the division where the pandemic situation started improving with a decreasing number of diagnosed fresh Covid-19 cases in recent days.
 
Meanwhile, the number of administered Covid-19 jabs rose to three crore 34 lakh eight thousand and 395 in the division with the inoculation of a total of 87,177 doses as the first, second and booster doses on Tuesday.
 
"Till Tuesday, a total of 1,49,07,588 people got the first doses of Covid-19 jabs, and of them, 1,32,59,994 got the second doses and 59,40,813 the booster doses in the division," Acting Divisional Director (Health) Dr. Md. Habibur Rahman said.
 
Meanwhile, the total number of Covid-19 patients remained steady at 64,947 as no fresh Covid-19 cases were diagnosed after testing 34 new samples on Monday in the division.
 
The number of recovered Covid-19 patients remained same at 63,621 as no more patients healed during the last 24 hours ending at 8 am today in the division.
 
"Besides, the number of casualties also remained steady at 1,293 as no new death was reported during the last 24 hours," Dr. Rahman said.
