RAJSHAHI, Oct 18, 2022 (BSS) - Rajshahi University (RU) has sought support from the United States of America (USA) in terms of higher education and research for the greater interest of boosting the number of skilled human resources.

RU Vice Chancellor (VC) Prof Golam Sabbir Sattar said there are scopes of boosting cooperation between the USA universities and higher research institutions and the RU education and research.

He expressed his interests on bringing the RU teachers and researchers under various USA scholarship programmes specially Fulbright scholarship and English language fellowship opportunity.

VC Prof Golam Sabbir came up with the observation while sharing views with Cultural Officer Sharlina Hussain Morgan from USA Embassy in Dhaka at RU today.

RU Pro-VC Prof Sultan-Ul-Islam and others concerned were present on the occasion.

In response to the RU request and interests, Sharlina Hussain said an American instructor will arrive at RU for conducting a ten-month long training on English language within shortest possible time.

Earlier on January 16, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between RU and Coppin State University in the USA aimed at boosting bilateral relation in terms of higher education and research between the two universities.

Main objective of the MoU was to focus on biotechnology and nanotechnology as these are playing pivotal roles in diversified fields of human civilization.
 
There are enormous uses of biotechnology and nanotechnology in various fields of health, environment, agriculture, industries and different branches of sciences.
 
Nanotechnology is also attaching the economy related from cosmetics industries to the sea.
 
Under the new MoU, teachers, students and researchers of the two universities can avail the scope of exchanging knowledge and other innovative ideas.
