DHAKA, Oct 18, 2022 (BSS) – Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Anisul Huq today said Sheikh Russel is an exceptional symbol of humanity and if Sheikh Russel was alive today, he might have had dedicated himself for changing the nation’s fate like his father Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
“Killers killed Sheikh Russel to get rid of Bangabandhu’s bloodline once and for all. If Sheikh Russel was alive today, he might have had dedicated himself for changing the nation’s fate like his father Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. He could have become the leader of the oppressed. Country and the nation would have become proud of him,” the law minister said.
Anisul Huq came up with the observations while addressing a function to inaugurate Sheikh Russel Children Corner on the website of Legislative and Parliamentary Affairs Division in memory of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman's youngest son Sheikh Russel.
“Sheikh Russel was mercilessly killed along with his parents and most of his family members at the age of 10 on August 15, 1975. It was one of the most barbaric killings in the world history. Sheikh Russel is not among us today, but his memories are there,” Anisul added.
Legislative and Parliamentary Affairs Division Secretary Md Moinul Kabir, Law and Justice Division Secretary Md Golam Sarwer, additional secretary Hafiz Ahmed Chowdhury and joint secretary Md Moniruzzaman were present at the launching ceremony, among others.
