Development, success should continue: BRUR VC

RANGPUR, Oct 12, 2022 (BSS) - Vice-chancellor of Begum Rokeya University, Rangpur (BRUR) Professor Dr. Md. Hasibur Rashid has said development and success should be continued to maintain a fair environment of education.
 
"Earlier, there was a four-year session jam that has already been reduced to the zero level in the last one year. This is a huge success for this university," he said.
 
Professor Rashid said this while addressing a discussion arranged on the campus today in celebration of the University Day-2022 through daylong programmes marking the 15th foundation day of BRUR as the chief guest. 
 
He said, "The four-year degree courses in this university will be completed in four years. Students can contribute to the development of their respective families, society and state by completing their studies within the stipulated time." 
 
The existing problems, including the crisis of teachers and classrooms, in the university are going to be resolved gradually. 
 
He said, "A new separate examination hall will be constructed. I have proposed to build several physical infrastructures. No problem at this university is caused by me. But I am trying hard day and night for the solution."
 
He called upon everyone to cooperate in the development activities of the university along with fulfilling their respective responsibilities properly. 
 
Convener of the University Day-2022 Celebration Committee Professor Dr. Md. Gazi Mazharul Anwar presided over the discussion moderated by its Member-secretary Md. Nuruzzaman Khan.
 
Pro Vice-chancellor of BRUR Professor Dr. Sarifa Salwa Dina and its Treasurer Professor Dr. Mojib Uddin Ahmed addressed the event as special guests. 
 
Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences Md. Shariful Islam, Dean of the Faculty of Life and Earth Science Dr. Abu Reza Md. Toufiqul Islam, Dean of the Faculty of Business Studies Professor Dr. Md. Matiur Rahman, Registrar Engineer Md. Alamgir Chowdhury, Mathematics Department Professor Kamolesh Chandra Roy, Teachers' Association General Secretary Syed Anwarul Azim, Officers' Association General Secretary Mohammad Ali, among others, spoke. 
 
The celebrations began with hoisting of the national flag and the university flag amid rendering of the national anthem by the Vice-chancellor and Pro Vice-chancellor respectively on the campus in the morning. 
 
Later, the Vice-chancellor with the Pro Vice-chancellor, Treasurer and Registrar paid homage to Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman at his mural and portrait of the great woman Begum Rokeya on the campus.
 
At 11 am, a huge colorful 'Ananda Shovayatra' led by the Vice-chancellor was taken out from the university campus, circled the park and ended back at the campus. 
 
Teachers-students and officers-employees of different departments of the university participated in the colorful procession. An attractive cultural program was organized in the afternoon.
