DHAKA, Sept 28, 2022 (BSS) - The Appellate Division of the Supreme Court (SC) today stayed the chairman election in Noakhali Zila Parishad polls scheduled to be held on October 17.

The apex court also set October 18 for holding further hearing at Appellate Division full bench, on a petition filed against High Court order that declared the candidacy of chairman aspirant Alabox Taher Titu, legal.

Justice M Enayetur Rahim of Appellate Division Chamber Judge Court passed the order today after holding hearing on a plea challenging the High Court order.

Barrister Ruhul Quddus Kazal took part in the hearing for Alabox Taher Titu, while Advocate Mamtaz Uddin Fakir stood for another chairman aspirant Abdul Wadud Pintu.
