Khalid urges all to remain vigilant during Durga Puja

DHAKA, Sept 24, 2022 (BSS) - State Minister for Cultural Affairs KM Khalid today urged all to remain alert for maintaining communal harmony in the country during the upcoming Durga Puja, the biggest religious festival of the Bangalee Hindu community.

"A vested quarter of fundamentalists are engaged in various conspiracies to destroy the communal harmony among the Hindu-Muslim community. Last year during Durga Puja, an untoward incident took place in Cumilla. Everyone has to remain vigilant so that this kind of incident does not repeat this year," he said.

The state minister came up with the call while addressing a music video unveiling programme of freedom fighter Prof Dr Arupratan Chowdhury titled 'Puja Ashey' organized by renowned music company Sangeeta at the Cineplex auditorium of Bangladesh National Museum in the capital as the chief guest.

With senior editor and advisor Rownak Hossain of Saregama -- Bangladesh's only newspaper on music -- in the chair, the event was addressed, among others, by 71's sound artist and freedom fighter Md Manowar Hossain and chief advisor of Sangeeta Khairul Hasan.
