DHAKA, Sept 22, 2022 (BSS)- Information and Broadcasting Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud today said there are many battles to be fought in the path of life while persistence and constant struggle towards the goal is the key to victory in this battle of life.
“When one makes up his mind that he has to reach the goal, then he is able to overcome all odds to achieve the goal. World famous industrialist Andrew Carnegie was from very poor family while Steve Jobs walked about seven miles to a temple in every Sunday evening for better meals,” he said.
The minister was addressing the orientation function of new students of Fall Semester of North South University at Bashundhara in the capital.
He said founder of Microsoft Bill Gates couldn’t complete his studies at Harvard University after failing exams for twice. Napoleon Bonaparte conquered the world despite being a small man, added Hasan, also Awami League joint general secretary.
Professor Dr Abdul Hannan Chowdhury, Professor Dr Abdur Rob Khan, Professor Dr Javed Bari, Professor Dr Hasan Mahmud Reza and trustee board member Yeasin Kamal, among others, addressed the function with NSU vice chancellor Professor Dr Atiqul Islam in the chair.
Later, the minister and guests unwrapped the cover of the book ‘Fifty Years of Bangladesh: A Tale of a Miracle’ edited by Professor Dr Sharif Uudin Ahmed.
They also handed over special scholarship certificates to 59 students.
