DHAKA, Sept 19, 2022 (BSS) - President M Abdul Hamid today asked Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) to take necessary steps to ensure proper spending of public money in accordance with laws and regulations at each office.

 He came up with the directive as a three-member delegation led by Comptroller and Auditor General of Bangladesh Mohammad Muslim Chowdhury submitted its annual audit and account report to the President at Bangabhaban this evening.

 The Head of State urged all concerned to ensure transparency and accountability in the expenditure of public funds.

President Hamid also called for taking strict action against the person or organization concerned with the objection.

After the meeting, President's Press Secretary Md Joynal Abedin informed that the President was apprised of the overall activities and various aspects of the CAG reports.

Secretaries concerned to the President's office were also present.
