Five Muktijoddha complexes inaugurated in Mymensingh

 

MYMENSINGH, Sept 19, 2022 (BSS) - Liberation War Affairs Minister AKM Mozammel Haque today inaugurated the newly constructed five Muktijoddha complexes in five upazilas of the district.

Liberation War Affairs Minister AKM Mozammel Haque inaugurated the Muktijoddha complexes at Sadar upazila headquarters as the chief guest with Deputy Commissioner (DC) Mohammad Enamul Haque in the chair.

Lawmakers Fakrul Imam and Kazim Uddin Ahmed Dhanu, Superintendent of Police Masum Ahmed Bhuiyan, District Awami League President Advocate Zahirul Haque Khoka and heroic freedom fighters, among others, were present on the occasion.

The chief guest highlighted on the occasion of the inaugurated ceremony, organized by Sadar upazila administration, the various development activities of the present government and urged the new generation to be inspired by the spirit of the liberation war and devote themselves to building the Sonar Bangla as dreamt by Bangabandhu.

He said that the freedom fighters are now getting a minimum allowance of Taka 20,000 monthly and around 30,000 'Bir Nibash' houses are being constructed for the poor freedom fighters.

 The freedom fighters are getting medical treatment in the hospital, all necessary treatment, medicine and tests are being provided free of cost in the district, upazila and other specialized hospitals of the country and Awami League government always worked for the welfare of brave freedom fighters, the minister said.

The freedom fighter complexes were constructed at a cost of about Taka 2.5 crore each under the freedom fighter complex project of the Ministry of Liberation War Affairs.

The complexes will be constructed in 63 districts and 470 upazilas in the country. Already, Muktijoddha Complex construction work has been completed in 63 districts at a cost of Taka 153 crore and 421 Muktijoddha Complex construction in 421 upazilas at a cost of Taka 1000 crore.
