CHATTOGRAM, Sept 13, 2022 (BSS)- Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI)
submitted a charge sheet against seven people, including former
superintendent of police (SP) Babul Akter, in the sensational Mahmuda Khanam
Mitu murder case.
 
Inspector Abu Zafar Mohammad Omar Faruk, Investigating officer of PBI
submitted the 2084-page charge sheet before the court today.
 
The court fixed the hearing of the case on October 10 next.
 
According to a probe report of PBI, former police superintendent (SP) Babul
Akter planned and financed the murder of her wife, Mahmuda Khanam Mitu, for
his extramarital affair.
 
Babul filed a case against the unidentified persons with Panchlaish thana
after the murder.
 
Now, Babul has been made the prime accused in the case.
 
 The charge sheet has recommended for the acquittal of four people from the
allegation for different reasons.
 
Mahmuda Khanam Mitu was shot dead while she was taking her son for school bus
in the morning on 5 June 2016 near the GEC intersection in the port city.
