Tuku for forming cross sector body for protection of child rights

DHAKA, Sept 11, 2022 (BSS) - Deputy Speaker of Jatiya Sangsad Md Shamsul Haque Tuku today underscored the need for forming cross sector body for the protection of child rights.

He said this while addressing as the chief guest a seminar at the Jatiya Sangsad (JS) LD Hall here.

Tuku, also chairman of the Parliamentary Caucus on Child Rights, said all problems of street children should be solved through the coordinated efforts from government and private organisations.

"The child born today is the owner of the state. So, the child cannot stay on streets. The government is continuing its efforts to turn the child into manpower," he said.

Deputy Secretary of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Ministry Ariful Kaiser, Social Services Department Additional Director MM Mahmudullah, Department of Inspection of Factories and Establishments Health Wing Joint Inspector General Md Matiur Rahman and Dhaka Ahsania Mission General Secretary Engineer AFM Golam Sharfuddin spoke on the occasion.

Dhaka Ahsania Mission and Scan Bangladesh jointly arranged the seminar.

 Dhaka Ahsania Mission Vice-President Professor Dr Kazi Shariful Alam chaired it while its executive director Sajedul Kaiyum Dulal delivered the welcome address.
