Govt not to obstruct peaceful movements of BNP: Anisul

SAVAR, Sept 8, 2022 (BSS) - Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Anisul Huq today said the government will not obstruct any peaceful movement of BNP, but it (government) will act strongly against any unruly activities in the name of movement.

"If they (BNP) try to bring back the days of arson and vandalizing, the government will crush them with an iron fist. None will be exempted. Government is not arresting the leaders and activists of BNP in any new cases. Only the fugitive accused are being arrested in old cases," he said.

"We would install a complaint box in each of the sub-registrar office within a month to tackle any corruption and irregularities there. High level officials will look into the complaints received through that box," Anisul further said.

The minister, later, planted sapling of a tree on the premises of the office.

Inspector General of Directorate of Registration Shahidul Alam Jhinuk, local lawmaker Benjir Ahmed, additional chief engineer of Public Works Department Mosleh Uddin Ahammed and additional deputy commissioner of Dhaka Bhashkar Debnath were present on the occasion, among others.
