Islamic Foundation chalks out programmes to observe Nat'l Mourning Day

DHAKA, Aug 13, 2022 (BSS) - Islamic Foundation (IF) has taken elaborate programmes in observance of the 47th martyrdom anniversary of Father of Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and National Mourning Day on August 15. 
 
The programmes include paying homage to Bangabandhu by placing wreaths at his portrait, hoisting national flag half-mast at buildings, holding Quran khawani and milad mahfils at many places and mosques including Banani graveyard, Baitul Mukarram National Mosque and Mausoleum of Bangabandhu at Tungipara of Gopalganj, offering special prayers, holding discussion on Bangabandhu's life and works and providing free healthcare services, said an IF press release here today.

Qur'an Khatam, discussion and special prayers will be organized in all upazila, district and divisional offices of the field level Islamic Foundation, 50 Islamic missions and 7 Imam training academies. 

Arrangements have been made to hold doa-munajat and special prayers at 73,768 pre-primary and adult education centers under the 7th phase of the mosque-based child and mass education programme project.

The money of Zakat will be distributed among the poor and needy people by the IF Zakat Board.

Discussions on 'Life and Work of Father of Nation Bangabandhu' will be held at the head office of Islamic Foundation in city's Agargaon area and Baitul Mukarram office. 

Free medical services and voluntary blood donation programme will be conducted by Islamic Mission in 50 Islamic Mission centers including Agargaon Head Office and Baitul Mukarram Office of IF.
 
Besides, special supplements of IF's regular publications 'Masik Agrapathik' and 'Sabujpata' will be published highlighting the importance of the day.
