10 more community clinics to be built in Bagmara: Modasser

RAJSHAHI, August 11, 2022 (BSS) - Chairman of Community Clinic Health Support Trustee Board Prof Dr Syed Modasser Ali has said ten more Community Clinics (CC) will be built in Bagmara upazila in the district for the betterment of the grassroots people.

He also said labor rooms will be launched in the CCs within the near future for making the maternal services to the village people easier.

The present government of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is determined to run the CCs effectively for betterment of the grassroots people, particularly the marginalized and low-incoming ones.

Dr Modasser came up with the observation while addressing a view-sharing meeting with some CC beneficiaries at Hatgabgopara High School playground under Bagmara upazila on Wednesday afternoon as chief guest.

Before the meeting, he inspected the Hatgangopara CC.

He told the meeting that the service delivery in CCs is getting better day by day as different government and non-government organisations are conducting motivational activities.

Awareness campaigns have been encouraging the rural people to avail of the healthcare services at the community level health facilities and many people, including the expectant mothers, are seen receiving services at the CCs.

There is widespread acknowledgement that these clinics have improved access of the poor people to the health services.

A silent revolution has taken place in the primary healthcare system as the Community Health Clinics provide services to the common people including mother and children.

The clinics are gradually turning into a blessing for the rural people as their service standard is improving day by day to reach the healthcare at doorsteps of the people offering a range of medicines free of cost.

Engineer Enamul Haque, MP, Civil Surgeon Dr Abu Dayeed Faruque and Upazila Health and Family Planning Officer Dr Golam Rabbani also spoke on the occasion.
