DHAKA, July 18, 2022 (BSS) - The Sector Commanders Forum-Muktijudda 71 has
demanded to give priority-based medical services to valiant Freedom Fighters
and preserve the abandoned weapons of the great Liberation War in the upazila
Muktijoddha complexes.
A delegation led by the forum's Secretary General Harun Habib made the
demands today at a view-exchange meeting with Liberation War Affairs Minister
AKM Mozammel Haque in his office.
The Vice President of the forum and also cultural personality Bir Muktijoddha
M Hamid and Joint Secretary General Bir Muktijoddha Professor Abul Kalam Azad
Patwari were also present.
While speaking at the meeting, they said as the Freedom Fighters are old and
sick, there is an urgent need for government directives to ensure that they
can be admitted to all government and private hospitals on a priority basis
and get full medical care with cabin facilities.
In many cases, the Freedom Fighters are being harassed and neglected by the
local authorities, they added.
The minister has assured the leaders of taking necessary measures to ensure
priority basis medical service for Freedom Fighters and preserve the
abandoned weapons of the great Liberation War.
The weapons of the great War of Liberation are the wealth of the nation's
history, so it is necessary to preserve and display those arms on an urgent
basis, the minister said, adding, "if necessary, initiatives will be taken to
preserve the memorials of the Liberation War in the Muktijoddha complexes."
