HABIGANJ, July 18, 2022 (BSS) - At least four people were killed and nine
others injured in a road accident on the Dhaka-Sylhet highway in Bakharnagar
area under Madhabpur upazila of the district this afternoon.

The identities of the deceased could not be known immediately.

The accident occurred when a Dhaka-bound bus of Al Mubaraka Paribahan from
Sylhet collided head-on with a microbus, coming from the opposite direction,
in the area around 2.30pm, leaving three persons including the microbus
driver dead on the spot and injuring 10 others, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of
Shaistaganj Highway Police Mohammad Saleh Ahmed told BSS.

The injured were taken to Habiganj Sadar Modern Hospital where one succumbed
to his injuries, he said.

Later, police recovered the bodies from the spot, the OC added.
