13 people killed in India’s Madhya Pradesh bus accident

NEW DELHI, July 18, 2022 (BSS) – As many as 13 people were killed and several others injured when a Maharashtra government bus plunged into the river Narmada in the Indian state of Madhya Pradesh today.

Of the total, 15 passengers have been rescued, local media reported.

The Pune-bound bus from Indore, skidded off a slippery road and fell into the river after breaking the railing of a bridge in Khalghat area of Madhya Pradesh's Dhar district on the Agra-Mumbai Highway.

The bus departed from Indore city around 7.30 am and was going to Amalner, NDTV reported quoting officials.

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan expressed grief over the loss of lives in the accident.
