Malaysia reports 2,527 new COVID-19 infections

KUALA LUMPUR, July 3 (BSS/Xinhua) - Malaysia reported 2,527 new COVID-19
infections as of midnight Saturday, bringing the national total to 4,571,355,
according to the health ministry.

There are four new imported cases, with 2,523 cases being local
transmissions, data released on the ministry's website showed. No new deaths
have been reported, leaving the death toll to 35,771.

The ministry reported 2,359 new recoveries, bringing the total number of
cured and discharged to 4,505,199. There are 30,385 active cases, with 43
being held in intensive care and 22 of those in need of assisted breathing.

The country reported 5,958 vaccine doses administered on Saturday alone and
85.9 percent of the population have received at least one dose, 83.6 percent
are fully vaccinated and 49.4 percent have received boosters.
