DHAKA, June 30, 2022 (BSS) - In a major reshuffle in the Bangladesh Police, the government today posted a total of 41 Deputy Inspectors General (DIGs) of police to new offices. 

Of them, 32 officials were promoted to the rank, according to separate notifications of the Home Ministry issued today.

According to separate notifications issued by Public Security Division of the Home Ministry, DIG of Rangpur Range Debdas Bhattachariya was posted to the Mymensingh Range as its DIG, while Commissioner of the Rangpur Metropolitan Police (RpMP) Md Abdul Alim was made the DIG Rangpur Range.

Additional Commissioner of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Krishna Pada Ray was made the Commissioner of Chottogram Metropolitan Police (CMP) while incumbent CMP Commissioner Abu Saleh Md Tanvir was posted to Central Police Hospital (CPH) as its Director. 

The newly promoted DIG at the River Police Headquarters Mollah Nazrul Islam was made the Commissioner of Gazipur Metropolitan Police (GMP) while incumbent Commissioner of GMP Khandkar Lutful Kabir was posted to the Police Headquarters (PHQ) as DIG.

DIG of the Special Branch (SB) Md Humayun Kabir was transferred to the Police Staff College (PSC), Dhaka, as its Vice Rector while DIG of the Tourist Police Morshed Anwar Khan was made DIG of the specialized Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI). 

Another Additional Commissioner of the DMP Dr AFM Masum Rabbani was made DIG of the PSC while newly promoted DIG Md Monibur Rahman, Md Asaduzzaman, Syed Nurul Islam and Mohammad Harun-or-Rashid were made Additional Commissioners of the DMP.

Vice Rector of the PSC Md Abdul Kuddus Amin was posted to the SB as its DIG while newly promoted DIGs Nure Alam Mina and Md Saiful Islam were posted to RpMP and Barisal Metropolitan Police (BMP) as its Commissioners.

Meanwhile, newly promoted DIGs Directors of the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) Md Mozammel Huque and Mahfujur Rahman, Additional DIG of the Anti-Terrorism Unit (ATU) Salma Begum and Additional DIG Dhaka Range Md Mahbubur Rahman were posted to the Highway Police Headquarters as its DIGs.

Md Rezaul Haque, a newly promoted DIG from the PHQ was made Vice Rector of the PSC while the newly promoted couple Md Monir Hossain and Shamima Begum was posted to the SB as its DIG. 

On the other hand, newly promoted DIG from the ATU Md Moniruzzaman was made DIG at the same unit of the police while Mizanur Rahman of the Highway Police was made DIG of the River Police.

Newly promoted DIG Md Golam Rouf Khan and AKM Ehsanullah were posted to the Police Academy, Sharda as its Vice Principals while Additional Commissioner of Sylhet Metropolitan Police (SMP) Poritosh Ghosh was posted to the APBn Specialized Training Centre Khagrachhari as its Commandant. 

Additional DIG of the Rajshahi Range Joydeb Kumar Bhadra was posted to the Railway Police Headquarters as its DIG while newly promoted Kazi Ziauddin and SM Mustaq Ahmed Khan were posted to the PHQ as its DIGs.

Newly promoted Md Mahbub Alam, Shah Abid Hossain and Jamil Hasan were transferred to the Armed Police Battalions (APBn) as its DIGs while Director RAB Sk Md Rezaul Haider, Moinul Huque and Jehadul Kabir were posted to the Industrial Police as its DIGs.

Newly promoted DIG Shah Mizan Shafiur Rahman was posted to the ATU as its DIG while Joint Commissioners of the DMP Md Ilias Sharif, Md Miraz Uddin Ahmed and Md Anisur Rahman were given posting to the Tourist Police, PBI and the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of Police respectively.

The Home Ministry also instructed all the officers to join their new stations as early as possible.
