DHAKA, June 27, 2022 (BSS) - As many as 51,316 vehicles from both Mawa and 
Jajira points crossed the Padma Bridge and paid Tk 2,09,40,300 as toll on the 
first day.

According to the first day toll collection, the bridge authority collected 
Taka 2, 09, 40, 300 as toll on the first day on Padma Bridge till 6am today 
after opening the bridge to traffic on June 26.

Bangladesh Bridge Authority Executive Engineer Md Abul Hossain told 
journalists that a total of 51,316 vehicles from both Mawa and Jajira sides 
crossed the Padma River from 6am on June 26 to 6am today.

A total of 26,589 vehicles paid Taka 10,895,900 at the Toll Plaza at Mawa, 
while 24,727 vehicles paid Taka 10,044,400 at Jajira point, he said.

Earlier, a total of Taka 82,19,050 was collected in the first eight hours of 
the day. The Padma Bridge was opened to traffic at 6am on June 26 as Prime 
Minister Sheikh Hasina inaugurated the multipurpose bridge on June 25.
