Bangla, Bangalee, Bangabandhu, Bangladesh, AL are inseparable: Quader

DHAKA, June 22, 2022 (BSS) - Awami League (AL) General Secretary Obaidul Quader today said Bangla language, Bangalee nation, Father of Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the country Bangladesh and the ruling party Awami League (AL) are the names of inseparable emotions to the people of the country.

"All matters including the language movement and the struggle for independence and liberation war of 1971 under the undisputed leadership of Bangabandhu, the struggle for economic liberation and then the democratic movement against dictatorship under the leadership of Bangabandhu's daughter Sheikh Hasina and the struggle for economic progress, development and prosperity have been achieved by the party-AL," he said.

Quader, also the road transport and bridges minister, said this in a statement issued to the media marking the AL's 73rd anniversary that falls tomorrow.

He further said that AL has always upheld culture and politics and harmony in politics for the last 73 years with honesty and patriotism.

Awami League, a progressive struggling political party that had emerged from within the people, is the forerunner of the society's progressive thinking, ideals, goals and implementation of programmes in the country, he added.

He said AL, an organization of the masses, has been making continuous efforts for the last seven decades to establish the rights of the people and improve their fates in this country.

Most of the time in this long journey, Bangalees' undisputed leader Bangabandhu and his worthy daughter Sheikh Hasina had led the Awami League, he said.

Due to their strong leadership, the Awami League has made a strong organizational foundation and established the party as a reliable home for the emotions and feelings of the people of the country, he continued.

New horizons of possibilities have been explored with the establishment of Digital Bangladesh under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Quader said.

He said the economic progress of Bangladesh's is continuing for more than a decade under the Awami League led government.

"As a result, we have been able to implement large and challenging projects like the Padma Bridge with our own financing," he added.
