CHATTOGRAM, June 21, 2022 (BSS) - Information Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud
expressed deep shock and sorrow at the death of a prominent Islamic scholar
and Secretary General of Anjuman-e-Ittihad al-Madaris Bangladesh Abdul Halim
Bukhari.

In a condolence message, the minister said Maulana Abdul Halim Bukhari had
dedicated himself for the propagation of the holy religion of Islam.

At his death, the people of Chattogram lost a dedicated Islamic scholar who
had been serving the Islam in various ways, he added.

Hasan, also the Awami League (AL) Joint General Secretary, prayed for eternal
peace of the departed soul and conveyed profound sympathy to the bereaved
family.

Abdul Halim Bukhari, also Director General of Al Jamia Al Islamia Patiya
Madrasha in Chattogram, breathed his last at 10.04 am today in Chattogram.

His Namaz-e-Janaza will be held at 10pm tonight on the premises of Patiya
Madrasa.

He left behind wife, three daughters, four sons, numerous students, relatives
and admirers to mourn his death.
