RANGPUR, June 14, 2022 (BSS) - Successful implementation of the 10 special initiatives of Prime Minister (PM) Sheikh Hasina is accelerating development to build a 'Sonar Bangla' dreamed by Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
The views were expressed at a daylong workshop on the "Ten special initiatives of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina" held at Rangpur Sadar upazila parishad auditorium in the city on Monday.
Deputy Commissioner Md. Asib Ahsan virtually inaugurated the event organized by the Rangpur Sadar upazila parishad administration under the intuitive of the Governance Innovation Unit of the Prime Minister's Office as the chief guest.
Presided over by Sadar Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Most Nur Nahar Begum, 50 people including officials of the upazila administration, politicians, lawyers, journalists, representatives of NGOs and Rangpur Chamber participated at the event in ten groups.
Rangpur Sadar Upazila Chairman Nasima Zaman Boby addressed the workshop as special guest.
The UNO presented a documentary on the 10 special initiatives of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
The PM's ten special initiatives are: Palli Sanchay Bank (Amar Bari, Amar Khamar), Asrayan Prokalpo, digital Bangladesh, education assistance, women empowerment, electricity for all, social safety program, community clinic and mental health, investment development and environment protection.
After the inaugural function and open discussion session, the participants made written recommendations, including challenges of implementing 10 special innovative initiatives at local level and identifying new possibilities and issues for much publicity.
The speakers said Bangladesh has achieved remarkable developments in every sector and is moving forward on the highway of development braving the stresses caused by the Covid-19 pandemic under the shining leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
The election manifesto of the present government has given special priority to ensuring basic rights of the people, including poverty and hunger eradication, housing, education, medical care and social security.
Nasima Zaman Boby discussed tremendous successes achieved by the government in materializing a digital Bangladesh and ten special initiatives, prevention of militancy, terrorism and drugs to accelerate national development.
"The incredible successes achieved in education, health, agriculture, social safety programs, poverty alleviation, communication, power generation, women and children progress and empowerment and IT sectors are being appreciated globally," she added.
The chief guest said Bangladesh has attained laudable success in every sector of national development through implementation of the Prime Minister's ten special initiatives and massive programs on the way to build a developed country by 2041.
