DHAKA, April 28, 2022 (BSS) - Commerce Minister Tipu Munshi today said that the government has already ensured safety and restored the working friendly environment in the factories.
 
"The workers are working in a safe environment as the safe working environment is restored in the factories," he said.
 
Tipu said this at a discussion meeting marking the day of national occupational health and safety held at the Osmani Memorial Auditorium in the capital.
 
He said the government has also amended the labour law to make ensure more workers' rights in the factories.
 
State Minister for Labour and Employment Begum Monnujan Sufian said that the government has been making a digital worker database to keep record of the workers and to improve the working conditions at the factory level.
 
"Making a digital database of the workers will help establish the order in the industrial sector," she added.
 
The State Minister said that like other countries, Bangladesh would also have to face the challenges of the fourth industrial revolution and it is needed to make the workers capable to face the challenges of the fourth industrial revolution.
 
Sufian also said her government made the decent work policy in 2013 to ensure a decent working condition in the factories. "The government has already ensured Covid-19 vaccination to the workers," she said.
